What Are the Differences Between USB Chargers?

What are the differences between different USB type chargers with different specifications? Can USB type chargers be mixed together to use? 1. What are the differences between different USB type chargers?


In fact, the common mobile phone charger specifications on the market are: 5V-0.5A, 5V-1A, 5V-1.5A, 5V-2A, 5V-2.5a. At present, the most widely used on the market is basically 5V-2A.


2. The digital meaning of mobile phone USB type chargers


First of all, the current national unified rated voltage is 220V, mobile phone USB type charger is equal to a small transformer, it converts the 220V high voltage pulse into 5V low voltage pulse through the mobile phone charger, then it directly converts into 5V direct current through the charger conversion voltage regulator, which is "constant voltage" effect. 2A stands for maximum load power, which is "constant current" effect.


If the mobile phone load is 10 ohm resistance, then the output current should be I=U/R=5/10=0.5A, and if the mobile phone load is 1 ohm resistance, then the output current should be I=U/R=5/1=5A, but the maximum capacity of USB type charger is 2A, so it will be overloaded. Actually "constant voltage" and "constant current" can be simply understood as "voltage limit" and "current limit". Voltage refers to the conversion voltage 5V, and current refers to the output current 2A.


In fact, the general charging power supply will have a margin. Taking 5V-2A as an example, it is possible that the maximum margin of this power adapter can reach 2.4A, the output of this power supply may reach 2.4A when you charge the phone without batteries. But if the output is higher, it will cause the power adapter to burn and protect the charging device. The output current will slowly decrease when the charging device becomes fully charged.


Mobile phone USB type charger will not produce current when it is plugged into the power supply without charging it. You don't have to worry about the problems such as electric shock when you using it, because when the load is infinitesimal and the resistance is infinite, current I=U/R=5/∞=0A, which means there will be no current, so you don't have to worry about the problem of electric shock.
